By definition, this blog focuses on socio-political commentary in the City of Carson. However, today I want to celebrate the sense of love, family, and commitment to growth that are not only cornerstones of this great city, but richly embodied in two of its citizens: Rudy and Tessa Mageo.
For the majority of the 18 years that Rudy and Tessa have been a couple, they have lived and loved in Carson, CA, recently purchasing their first home here. A self-proclaimed “Carson Girl,” Tessa, along with Rudy, have been a dedicated team providing encouragement and support to the children at Scott Park- where their children, Isaiah, Elia, and Rudi, participate in activities. Carson Mayor Urges Participation In Carson’s First “4th of July” Celebration at the Home Depot Center Following the LA Galaxy vs. Seatle Sounders FC Match on Sunday.
In the year or so that I had the pleasure of being in and around Carson, observing and particpating in the special election and other activities, it amazed me to see the less than professional behavior of the city council of the City of Carson. From what I gathered back then, this phenomena is not new to this city nor to the the existing and/or prior City Councilmembers. All members are voted in, by the citizens of the City of Carson, with the hope they will guide this wonderful City to bigger and better things. It is a shame that the members seem to forget this and appear to take pride in their personal gains and silly power struggles. Why not have a fancy fair or carnival acts next time rather than an election. Continue reading
Certain Carson neighborhoods may experience a change in the schedule of the collection of their trash, green waste and recycling as part of efforts of Waste Management, Carson’s trash hauler, to increase efficiency in its services.
The reroute is scheduled to begin on the week of June 27 and will impact approximately 6,000 homes in four geographic locations in the city. It is the first re-route to take place in 20 years, despite the growth of Carson ’s infrastructure and population. Continue reading

Attorney Laurence Donoghue is a man on a mission. Born in New York City to a father in the Aerospace industry, he moved around the United States frequently before eventually calling California home.
After receiving his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mathematics from the University of California at Davis, Attorney Donoghue decided to pursue his Juris Doctorate degree at Golden Gate School of Law in San Francisco, CA. While there, he was awarded the National Computers in Law Fellowship- which is only awarded nationally to one deserving student per year- for excelling in both his legal studies and computer sciences.
